Ethics Series — Great Expectations: Holding Leaders to a Higher Standard?
On January 18, from 11:45am-12:45pm, you are invited to join the next Ethics Series which will look at the expectations of leaders. Universities, businesses, faith communities, political systems, sports organizations… all have leaders. It is often suggested that leaders should be held to ‘a higher standard’. The commonly accepted definition of ‘a higher standard’ is an expectation that is greater than what is considered to be normal.
The panel will explore expectations of leadership. Should there be a higher standard for leaders? What standards should be expected? How are standards determined?
We will be joined by:
- former MPP of Kitchener Centre Laura Mae Lindo who is now an instructor in the philosophy department at University of Waterloo
- Tom Axworthy, Massey’s Chair of Public Policy
- Lloyd Posno, (retired) partner, EY Canada
- Rev. Don Gibson, Ethics Series Co-Chair (Moderator)
